Novella, an Israel-based startup producing plant cell-cultured nutraceutical ingredients, has unveiled prototypes of its new line of berry-derived bioactives for dietary supplements at its new pilot facility, which cultivates whole berry fruit cells from five varieties.
The company claims that by cultivating at the cellular level, it can preserve the berry's natural complex of phytonutrients, including vitamins, minerals, and polyphenols. It can also produce specific berry-derived ingredients upon request.
