ZeroAvia partners with AFI KLM E&M to advance hydrogen-electric aircraft technology training and maintenance

Partnerships

  • ZeroAvia, a hydrogen-based aviation solutions developer, has partnered with Air France Industries KLM Engineering & Maintenance (AFI KLM E&M), a maintenance and repair organization, on hydrogen-electric propulsion for aircraft.

  • Under this partnership, the two companies will carry out a mutual study on the technical training needs and processes for technicians and mechanics tasked with retrofitting and maintaining aircraft fleets equipped with hydrogen-electric propulsion. Furthermore, they will focus on ongoing component support.

  • Analyst QuickTake: In September 2023 , ZeroAvia completed an undisclosed funding round that was led by Airbus, Barclays Sustainable Impact Capital, and NEOM. The company intended to use the funds to push toward certification of its first hydrogen-electric engine known as “ZA600.” Following the completion of the first stage of flight testing with the product, ZeroAvia now targets to commercialize the product in 2025.
