Universal Hydrogen, a startup producing hydrogen fuel tanks for aircraft, has partnered with JBT AeroTech, an airport ground support equipment provider, to design the H2AmpCartTM, a hydrogen fuel-cell-powered mobile battery charger for electric airport support equipment.
The H2AmpCartTM is expected to provide clean charging for electric ground support equipment (GSE) at airports, hence reducing greenhouse gas emissions and noise nuisances.
The product will use Universal Hydrogen’s modular hydrogen delivery system and JBT AeroTech's expertise in electric GSE. Production is expected to commence in 2024, with the first unit expected by end-2023.
