ByteDance, the parent company of Pico Interactive, is reportedly laying off thousands of employees due to the VR firm's failure to meet sales targets and internal challenges following its acquisition.
Pico Interactive, which aimed to compete with major VR manufacturers and attract developers to its platform, struggled with sales and internal disputes. Despite updates to its Pico 4 and Pico Neo 3 headsets, the company is reportedly losing money on each unit sold and has not launched key titles as planned.
