French cell-cultured breast milk startup Nūmi (formerly MUMilk) has secured EUR 3 million (~USD 3.2 million) in pre-seed funding backed by Heartcore Capital, HCVC, Financière Saint-James, Kima Ventures, and Kost Capital.
The fresh funds will be deployed toward expanding Nūmi's scientific team and its R&D efforts. The startup also plans to obtain regulatory approvals in the US, Europe, and Asia and work toward commercialization.
Nūmi develops human breast milk from cell-cultured mammary glands. The company plans on producing as many breast milk constituents (from over 1,500) as possible, including different proteins.
