Polestar partners with Luminar and Mobileye to enhance autonomous driving capabilities

Partnerships

  • Polestar, a Swedish electric car manufacturer, has partnered with Luminar Technologies, a manufacturer of LiDAR sensors, and Mobileye, an Intel subsidiary developing technology for self-driving vehicles, to develop autonomous driving technology for the upcoming Polestar 4 model.

  • By integrating Luminar's LiDAR technology and Mobileye's “Chauffeur” platform, Polestar 4, the company plans to offer advanced autonomous driving capabilities in its vehicles, including hands-off driving on highways and hands-on automated driving in other environments.

  • Analyst QuickTake: The partnership expands Polestar’s already established connections with Luminar and Mobileye and brings the autonomous driving sector one step closer to practical application with a production vehicle.
