Anthropic, a GenAI company that builds natural language chatbots with a focus on AI safety research, extends its partnership with Google and plans to leverage the v5e variant of Google's custom AI chip family, now available on Google Cloud, to train its GenAI models, including the Claude large language model (LLM).
This partnership is expected to bring AI to more customers in a safe and secure manner. Google also claimed that its latest chip which uses Multislice large-scale training technology delivers 2.3x higher training performance per dollar relative to the prior generation
Anthropic has a significant presence on Google Cloud, including a large Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) cluster, the use of AlloyDB, a PostgreSQL-compatible database, and Google's BigQuery data warehouse.
