Product updates

  • PayEye, an iris-based biometric POS terminal provider, announced that it has obtained Payment Card Industry (PCI) certification for its eyePOS 3 payment terminal.

  • The eyePOS 3 terminal, slated for an early 2024 market release, has a dual-mode reader for face and iris biometrics, a display for targeted advertising, and operates on Android 11. Its camera supports barcode scanning for labels/tickets, in addition to biometric functionalities.

  • Analyst QuickTake: At the beginning of the year, PayEye obtained the FIDO Biometric Component Certification , which was likely to pave the way for the company to commercialize its payment terminals. Moreover, its eyePOS 3 payment terminal has reportedly achieved a 0% error rate in a FIDO assessment for presentation attack detection.
