Grafana Labs acquires Asserts.ai to enhance observability data understanding

M&A

  • Grafana Labs, an observability platform company, has acquired Asserts.ai, a technology that aids users in navigating and comprehending their observability data. The acquisition was conducted for an undisclosed sum.

  • Asserts.ai offers insights into the relationships among different system components over time. This service enables its users to better understand and navigate their infrastructure and applications. It offers a set of pre-determined alerts and dashboards, thereby making it easier for users to identify the root cause of an issue and resolve it quickly.

  • After acquiring Asserts.ai, Grafana Labs plans to help its cloud users understand their observability data more efficiently, enabling them to troubleshoot issues more swiftly. It will also integrate the technology to extend the observability into the application layer and offer more contextualized analytics.

  • Analyst QuickTake: Grafana’s acquisition of Assets.ai is its second acquisition this year. Assets.ai will be integrated into Grafana Labs, specifically into the new Application Observability offering in Grafana Cloud. Before this, Grafana acquired Pyroscope and merged it with Grafana Phlare to create Grafana Pyroscope.
