Microsoft rebranded its AI-powered chatbot, Bing Chat, to Copilot in Bing. It also renamed the premium, corporate-focused version, Bing Chat Enterprise, to Copilot.
This service, which is aimed to provide a unified Copilot experience to consumer and commercial customers, can be purchased as a standalone option for USD 5 a month while it is also included in Microsoft's enterprise subscription plans at no extra cost.
Copilot in Bing serves as an advanced chatbot that includes features of commercial data protection and extends benefits to users with a corporate account, namely Microsoft Entra ID.
Analyst QuickTake: The rebranding and updated features are a move to create a more unified Copilot experience for customers and ensure their data privacy. Over time, the eligibility of Copilot with commercial data protection will be broadened to more Entra ID users at no extra charge. This official name adjustment occurs a few months after Microsoft opted for Copilot as the branding for its chatbot in Windows 11.
