Qortex, an AI-driven ad targeting firm, raised USD 6 million in a Series A funding round led by GFT Ventures, with participation from Silicon Road Ventures, bringing its total funding to USD 10 million.
It plans to utilize the funds to strengthen its business development team, striving for a more balanced composition with an equal number of engineers and business development staff by 2024.
It also announced the appointment of three individuals to its board of directors: Jeff Herbst, co-founding managing partner of GFT Ventures; Mark Pedowitz, former chairman and CEO of The CW Network and head of Pine Street Entertainment; and Sid Mookerji, managing partner and founder of Silicon Road Ventures.
Qortex, formerly known as CatapultX, uses AI to intelligently place ads within video content. The AI deciphers the context of the video and the audience, allowing it to place ads that are relevant to the content. Current clients include major brands such as Microsoft, Ford, and P&G.
