Malou, a French-based marketing campaign automation toolkit for restaurants, raised EUR 10 million (~USD 10.9 million) in funding from Bertrand Jelensperger of The Fork, henQ, Bleu Capital, and Jim Texier (ex-CPO of Lightspeed).
The company intends to use the funds to step up its growth in France, enhance its product features, and amplify its workforce in key areas, such as tech, engineering, sales, and marketing. It also intends to venture into new markets such as London, Europe, the Middle East, and the US, with particular emphasis on New York City.
Founded in 2021, Malou provides restaurants with a centralized system to deploy AI and marketing automation for tasks such as analyzing and generating responses to customer reviews, creating social media posts, and maintaining consistent information across channels. The company serves a clientele of 2,000+ restaurant customers in 12 countries, including independent restaurants, food chains, celebrity chefs, and high-profile restaurant groups.
