Firefly Aerospace partners with Fleet Space Technologies for lunar exploration mission

Partnerships

  • Firefly Aerospace, an American aerospace company, has teamed up with Fleet Space Technologies, an Australian space exploration company, for a lunar mission.

  • The partnership will see Firefly Aerospace delivering and operating the Fleet's SPIDER payload to the far side of the Moon. The payload is part of a wider initiative to facilitate future Moon habitation and will assist in capturing seismic data from the lunar surface for two weeks.

  • The accumulation and study of the data are anticipated to provide essential insights, fostering the possibility of sustaining human life beyond Earth. Firefly is also set to send other equipment for this mission and is currently finalizing its first Moon mission slated for 2024.
