Veuve Clicquot, a French champagne house, and Stella McCartney have partnered to develop VEGEA, a grape-waste-based leather alternative that will be used in a line of luxury accessories.
VEGEA is made from 80% botanical and recycled substances that Stella McCartney has used to design a selection of accessories that includes three styles of Frayme bags and a bottle holder for Veuve Clicquot's Yellow Label champagne.
VEGEA is claimed to have a 40% lower impact on global warming, as well as a 50% reduction in water usage compared to fossil fuel-based leather alternatives.
