CULT Food Science Corp, a Canadian leader in cellular agriculture technologies and products, has launched its third proprietary ingredient, Bmeaty.
Created through a process of primary fermentation and fractionation, Bmeaty adds umami flavor to meatless treats and foods. After yeast is produced through fermentation, scientists fractionate the yeast cell wall through a hydrolysis process. The new ingredient comprises the extract, the hydrolyzed yeast, and a carrier yeast.
The company's ingredients are currently being sold to pet food brands and will be used in plant-based products launched in 2024. The company is also discussing partnering with pet food brands in North America and Europe.
