CULT Food Science launches third pet food ingredient

Product updates

  • CULT Food Science Corp, a Canadian leader in cellular agriculture technologies and products, has launched its third proprietary ingredient, Bmeaty.

  • Created through a process of primary fermentation and fractionation, Bmeaty adds umami flavor to meatless treats and foods. After yeast is produced through fermentation, scientists fractionate the yeast cell wall through a hydrolysis process. The new ingredient comprises the extract, the hydrolyzed yeast, and a carrier yeast.

  • The company's ingredients are currently being sold to pet food brands and will be used in plant-based products launched in 2024. The company is also discussing partnering with pet food brands in North America and Europe.

  • Analyst QuickTake: CULT Food Science has established a notable presence in the cell-cultured meat industry, marked by strategic investments in companies like Pearlita Foods , Mogale Meats , and Novel Farms . Beyond its investments in cellular agriculture, the company has ventured into developing proprietary pet food ingredients. Bmeaty, the latest addition, joins CULT's suite of patented pet food innovations, Bmmune , a nutritional yeast fused with fermented proteins, and Bflora , a probiotic tailored for the gastrointestinal health of cats and dogs.
