Protein Evolution and Stella McCartney unveil garment made from biologically recycled plastic waste

Partnerships

  • Protein Evolution, a recycling company that develops circular plastics partnered with Stella McCartney to unveil a parka jacket at COP28, which uses polyester made from biologically recycled plastic waste.

  • The project showcases Protein Evolution’s “Biopure” technology that uses AI-designed enzymes to break down rigid packaging waste and industrial textile strappings to make new polyester material. The fabric is infinitely recyclable, and the project has also repurposed unused polyester fabrics from Stella McCartney's earlier collections.
