Babylon, a Bitcoin staking protocol, secured USD 18 million in fresh financing led by Polychain Capital and Hack VC, with participation from Framework Ventures, Polygon Ventures, and OKX Ventures.
The company plans to use the funding to support the development of its protocol.
Babylon is a Stanford-incubated blockchain protocol that enables users to earn yield from staking their Bitcoin holdings. The protocol aims to allow for Bitcoin to act as an economic security token on proof-of-stake chains.The company stated that it plans to launch its testnet in January 2024, with aims for mainnet deployment by April.
