Docker, Inc. has acquired AtomicJar, a firm providing a cloud service based on the open-source Testcontainers framework, for an undisclosed sum.
AtomicJar simplifies the process of testing cloud-based applications by offering real-world testing environments using Docker containers. It eradicates the need for IT companies to establish their staging environments for testing applications, enabling developers to perform these tests independently before integrating the code into a DevOps workflow.
As a result of the acquisition, Docker plans to improve its developer productivity by integrating the functional testing capabilities of AtomicJar with Docker's existing security testing tool, DockerScout. Docker, Inc. also aims to utilize data from AtomicJar to apply AI in the development of cloud-native applications.
