Puma scales up use of its Re:Fibre polyester recycling technology

Partnerships
Product updates

  • Puma announced that it intends to scale up its textile recycling technology, Re:Fibre, by gradually replacing polyester made from PET bottles with that made from old garments and factory waste. Puma claims the ultimate goal is to have 100% of its polyester originating from textile waste.

  • Re:Fibre is created using a four-step process that involves mechanical and chemical recycling of textile waste. Starting in 2024, the majority of Puma’s football jerseys will utilize Re:Fibre. The company also launched a capsule collection in collaboration with US upcycler Andrew Burgess and his “Vivid Visions” brand.
