Xeol, a cloud-native application security provider, has raised USD 3.2 million in a seed funding round led by Shield Capital, with participation from Y Combinator and 468 Capital.
The raised funds are intended for Xeol's continued efforts toward mitigating software supply chain security issues by putting standards like Software Bill of Materials (SBOM) and Supply-chain Levels for Software Artifacts (SLSA) to effective use.
Established in 2023, Xeol aims to enhance the security of software throughout its lifecycle, spanning from code development to deployment, especially for applications whose publishers no longer offer security updates. The company has successfully acquired its inaugural Fortune 500 client—for whom it has identified and addressed more than 2,000 outdated software items.
