Intel has unveiled its next-gen Core Ultra processors, promising enhanced power efficiency and performance for laptops. The flagship, Core Ultra 9 185H, features 16 cores, 22 threads, and an integrated Arc GPU, expected to be available in 2024.
These Core Ultra processors include improved multi-threading performance (e.g., 11% better than AMD Ryzen 7 7840U), significant reduction in power consumption (25% compared to the previous Intel Core i7-1370P), Integrated Neural Processing Unit (NPU) for low-power AI acceleration and off-loading CPU/GPU tasks, and new chip architecture.
The company also highlighted this chip’s efficiency of running AI models like Stable Diffusion compared to earlier chip versions. MSI, Asus, Lenovo, and Acer have already adopted these processors to their laptops, offering a range of options from high-end to more affordable models.
