Alteryx, a company offering a cloud-based data analytics platform, has entered a definitive agreement to be acquired by private equity firms Clearlake Capital Group and Insight Partners in a deal valued at USD 4.4 billion (inclusive of debt), which will see the company becoming a privately held firm. The transaction is expected to finalize in the first half of 2024, pending standard closing conditions and approvals, such as Alteryx stockholder consent and regulatory approval.
Alteryx stockholders will receive USD 48.25 in cash for each share of Alteryx Class A or Class B common stock they own, in accordance with the terms outlined in the agreement. The purchase price per share is 59% higher than Alteryx's unaltered closing stock price on September 5, 2023 , the final full trading day preceding public reports regarding a potential sale deal.
After the acquisition, Alteryx plans to bolster its working capital and industry expertise and use the investment to accelerate its aim of empowering customers to use analytics for data transformation.
