Blendid opens fourth robotic food kiosk at Walmart

Geographic expansion

  • The robotic smoothie making kiosk Blendid, developed by 6d Bytes, opened its fourth location at Walmart in Fermont, California.

  • The kiosk will be open seven days a week, with consumers able to order in person through Blendid tablets, or a mobile app, drinks that cost USD 4.97 - USD 5.97 per 12-ounce drink. Upon order placement, the robot prepares the drink.

  • An increased focus on food safety puts Blendid in the spotlight as its food preparation process is completely contactless from the point of ordering to pick up. The kiosk comes with a robotic arm, blenders, refrigerators, and dispensers to store and dispense ingredients.

  • The system is already in operation at the Market Cafe at University of San Francisco, Plug and Play Tech Center, Silicon Valley and Charlie Brown’s Cafe at Sonoma State University.
