Nubank, a Brazilian neobank, announced that its Colombian operations, Nu Colombia, has gained regulatory approval to operate as a financing company from Colombia's Financial Superintendence.
The regulatory approval enables Nubank to broaden its array of products in Colombia, starting with the introduction of a new savings option called "Cuenta Nu.” It currently offers credit cards in the country and has amassed over 800,000 customers.
Nubank has invested around USD 450 million in Colombia since 2021, with the most recent being a USD 150 million capital injection that is to be deployed over the next two years.
