RealWear announced the launch of its latest AR glasses at CES 2024, the Navigator Z1, which is tailored for frontline workers in hazardous environments. The company dubs the glasses as the world's most advanced smart glasses.
The smart glasses are powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6490 chipset with an embedded AI engine. Other features include ATEX/IECEx safety certifications, making it safe to wear in inflammable atmospheres, a swappable battery, and a camera and voice recognition feature for AI-guided workflows.
The company stated that it received numerous pre-orders from companies specializing in the oil and gas industry. Customers can purchase the product through RealWear’s global reseller network.
Analyst QuickTake: Although the company is yet to announce pricing for the Z1 publicly, it is likely to fetch a premium compared to previous smart glasses in the Navigator series (the Navigator 500 was priced at USD 2,900, and the Navigator 520 was priced at USD 3,300). Additionally, the product launch follows the company abandoning plans in April 2023 to go public via a SPAC deal, citing unfavorable market conditions.
