NASA has postponed its next two Artemis lunar missions to give SpaceX more time to develop Starship and other necessary technologies. The updated timelines have pushed Artemis II to September 2025 and Artemis III to September 2026.
With the numerous historic tasks involved like SLS, Orion, Starship Human Lander, and in-space refueling, NASA admitted that the updated timelines are still ambitious amid technological challenges ahead, including the need for new spacesuits, Orion's heat shield, life support system, and abort system.
