According to a claim by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Lordstown Motors, a developer of light-duty, battery-electric pickup trucks for commercial fleets, could be penalized for USD 45 million for alleged violation of federal securities laws. The claim relates to the company's Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings on January 04, 2022 .
The company stated that it is still amidst settlement negotiations with the SEC and expects to dispute the claim if it cannot be resolved with the agency.
