Microsoft launches Copilot Pro, adds new features to Copilot, and expands Copilot for Microsoft 365

Product updates

  • Microsoft has introduced Copilot Pro, a subscription service priced at USD 20 per month, which offers upgraded AI features. Additionally, Microsoft has expanded public access to its Copilot Android and iOS apps.

  • Copilot Pro’s primary attributes include providing an integrated AI experience that comprehends user context across various platforms, priority access to the most recent models like OpenAI's GPT-4 Turbo, enhanced image creation, and a facility to design personalized Copilot GPT. It also brings the feature of Copilot to Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and OneNote on PC, Mac, and iPad for Microsoft 365 Personal and Family subscribers.

  • The company is also introducing free Copilot GPTs for topics like fitness and travel and expanding Copilot's language support in 2024.

  • Analyst QuickTake: Microsoft is strategically positioning Copilot, its suite of AI-powered content generation technologies, as a potential significant revenue driver in the future. The participation of over 40% of Fortune 100 companies in its Copilot early access program signals a growing interest in AI-driven content creation. The introduction of Copilot Pro is expected to broaden the base of potential paying customers and simultaneously enhance the appeal of Microsoft's suite of productivity applications.
