Novoloop (formerly known as Biocellection), a startup that converts plastic waste into polyester-based thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU), has planned to construct a pilot plant in India in partnership with Aether Industries, an Indian chemical company.
The plant will showcase the company’s lifecycling technology, which converts plastic waste into thermoplastic polyurethane. Novoloop expects to demonstrate its commercial readiness and financial viability through the facility.
The partners plan to start initial operations in Q1 2024 and reach a capacity of processing 70 tons of plastic by the end of 2024. The next phases of the facility will proceed after the companies collect data to optimize technology optimization.
Novoloop aims to distribute the products from the pilot plant to customers for trial and commercial use.
