SonicWall, a network security company mainly serving small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs), has announced it is acquiring Banyan Security , a security service edge (SSE) company, for an undisclosed sum.
Banyan Security offers a zero-trust security solution designed to allow employees to access an organization’s assets from anywhere via any device. The company says its products are designed to offer enhanced visibility and provide actionable intelligence, while continuously monitoring authorization processes with trust scoring and least access privileges.
SonicWall expects to integrate Banyan into its portfolio, growing its security coverage to the cloud alongside networks and devices.
Analyst QuickTake: The Banyan deal comes hot on the heels of SonicWall’s November 2023 acquisition of managed services provider (MSP) Solutions Granted to enhance its managed detection and response (MDR) and security operations center (SOC) capabilities. The acquisition is also part of a flurry of SASE-related announcements this week, with Netskope announcing an SMB focused single-vendor solution, Zscaler launching its zero-trust-backed SASE, and Cato Networks announcing a new XDR-focused SASE product.
