Archer Aviation, a California-based eVTOL company, has signed a Space Act Agreement with NASA to study high-performance battery cells for Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) and space applications. The project will support the development of Archer's electric air taxi, Midnight.
NASA also expects to test the safety of Archer’s battery cells at the European Synchrotron Radiation Facility by utilizing advanced high-speed X-ray facilities.
The partners aim to provide the test results to accelerate the AAM industry.
