Italy's Data Protection Authority has issued a warning to OpenAI that its chatbot ChatGPT is supposedly breaching data protection rules.
The authority carried out an investigation last year that has led them to believe there is evidence of potential violations. As a result, the AI application was temporarily barred the previous year because of an alleged infringement of EU privacy regulations.
OpenAI has been given a 30-day notice to provide defense arguments in response to the authority's charges.
