Vermillion Studios, the developer behind Forgotten Lands, has raised USD 7 million in a seed funding round led by Merit Circle, with the participation of Spartan Group, C2 Ventures, and Paper Ventures, among others.
It aims to use the fresh funds to develop Forgotten Playland and its mini-games.
Forgotten Playland is a social party game that includes a series of mini-games, including Bumb-A-Ball, in which players compete to knock each other off a wooden table platform, and Jungle Rumble, in which players must cross a jungle-themed environment while dodging obstacles to survive. Additionally, it will include a social hub where players can interact and socialize. The game is scheduled for launch in Q1 2024.
Vermillion Studios is formed through a joint venture between Merit Circle DAO and Duckland Games (a game studio based in the Netherlands). Duckland Games is responsible for developing the game, while the in-game economics, smart contract design, and token and NFT designs are handled by Merit Circle DAO.
