Zwipe, a biometric payment card inlay provider, announced its exit from the biometric payment market and plans to shift its focus fully toward the biometric access control market with its Zwipe Access. The company believes this strategic shift should help the commercial success of Zwipe Access and enable the company to operate in a leaner manner.
The decision comes on the back of market adoption and commercial launches failing to materialize in the manner Zwipe expected, despite the company’s full certification by Visa and Mastercard.
Analyst QuickTake: Earlier this month, Zwipe announced a shift in strategic focus on the more profitable Zwipe Access while reducing operational costs associated with Zwipe Pay.
