Planet A Foods raises USD 15.4 million in Series A funding to scale production to industrial-scale

Funding

  • Planet A Foods, a B2B sustainable ingredients company, has raised USD 15.4 million in Series A funding led by World Fund, with participation from Omnes Capital, Cherry Ventures, Mudcake, Nucleus Capital, Triple Point Capital, and Feast Ventures.

  • The fresh funds will be used to hire additional scientists to bolster its 50-person team in Germany to increase the production of cocoa butter and palm oil alternatives on an industrial scale.

  • Analyst QuickTake: Planet A Foods claims its chocolate production is 20% cheaper than conventional chocolate and uses 30% less sugar and 94% less water. With cocoa prices surging to an all-time high, companies like Planet A Foods and WNWN Food Labs have an opportunity to seize the market with their cost-effective chocolate alternatives.
