F5 announces SaaS edition of NGINX application networking portfolio

Product updates

  • F5 has introduced a software-as-a-service version of its NGINX application networking portfolio called NGINX One. Under a single enterprise license, the service aims to streamline and simplify the implementation process for its enterprise clients.

  • NGINX One offers a unified console across the F5 application networking portfolio, making management more streamlined. The service provides a single platform for enterprise IT organizations to use and pay for the as-needed capabilities of NGINX Plus, NGINX Open Source, NGINX Unit, NGINX Gateway Fabric, and Kubernetes Ingress Controller.

  • Analyst QuickTake: NGINX offers web serving, reverse proxying, caching, load balancing, media streaming, and more, primarily focusing on high performance and scalability. It is widely used for web serving, with a significant portion of websites using NGINX due to its efficiency and resource-light footprint. NGINX's market share is substantial among top websites, competing closely with other web servers like Apache, indicating its popularity and adoption for handling high-traffic sites and as a reverse proxy for application servers.
