Digital twin software provider Aize has partnered with oil producer ExxonMobil Guyana and Dutch-based oil industry company SBM Offshore to implement their digital twin software on two Floating, Production, Storage, and Offloading (FPSO) vessels, Liza Unity and Liza Destiny, in Guyana.
Aize's software will augment the traditional approach to Turnaround (TAR) campaigns, enhancing the ability of experts to work with engineering and related data digitally for better insights into physical facilities. By consolidating information from various sources into one interface, the software aims to improve the planning and efficiency of crucial TAR activities.
Analyst QuickTake: Digital twins can support the FPSO industry by delivering cost savings, enhancing safety, and improving operational capabilities through real-time asset monitoring and simulations. Several companies have entered key partnerships to develop FPSO digital twins, including 1) Akselos , to deploy its digital twin technology on the floating vessel Atlanta FPSO in Brazil's Santos Basin (September 2023), and 2) Cognite , which partnered with Rockwell Automation, Sensia, and SLB to enhance the performance and sustainability of offshore FPSO facilities in the Santos Basin as well (May 2023).
