Hyzon Motors, a developer of commercial hydrogen fuel-cell electric vehicles (EV), and New Way Trucks have entered an agreement to create a fuel-cell-powered refuse vehicle for the North American market.
This partnership is set to bring together Hyzon's advanced fuel cell technology and New Way's refuse collection equipment to produce a zero-emission refuse truck. The goal of the joint venture is to reduce emissions in the refuse industry and provide customers with sustainable refuse collection solutions.
Initial trials are planned for the first half of 2024, with the potential for commercial deployment in 2025, depending on the success of the trials.
