Nikola Motor Company (Nikola), a developer of heavy-duty battery-electric vehicles (BEVs) and fuel-cell electric vehicle (FCEV) trucks, has inaugurated its first HYLA hydrogen refueling station in Southern California. The station will provide hydrogen refueling systems for Class 8 trucks.
The HYLA station will be able to refuel up to 40 hydrogen fuel cell electric Class 8 trucks daily. This project is part of a larger plan to provide up to 60 hydrogen refueling solutions in the future. The company plans to set up nine such solutions by Q2 2024.
Nikola reported that once the proposed nine stations are established by mid-2024, it will have created one of the largest heavy-duty hydrogen refueling networks in the world.
