Google has rebranded its chatbot, previously known as Bard, to Gemini and rolled out an upgraded version named Gemini Advanced.
Gemini Advanced uses Google’s new model Gemini Ultra 1.0 and is capable of complex tasks like coding, logical reasoning, following nuanced instructions, and creative projects. This is available under the Google One AI Premium Plan at USD 19.99 per month.
Both Gemini and the upgraded Gemini Advanced chatbots were also made available on a mobile app on Android and in the Google app on iOS to offer convenient access to customers.
Analyst QuickTake: This news comes a week after Google announced image generation capabilities for its chatbot Bard (now Gemini). This update, adding multimodal capabilities, positions Google to better compete in the chatbot space with companies like OpenAI, Anthropic, and Perplexity.
