OpenAI has introduced "memory" to its AI chatbot, ChatGPT, to personalize and enhance the user experience by remembering user information and conversation details over time.
The new function operates in two ways. Firstly, it allows users to feed specific personal information such as their work details or family information. Secondly, it picks up user details from ongoing conversations, accumulating information through the user's questions and responses.
The feature's main attributes include user-specific memory storage and compatibility with custom GPTs, such as Books GPT.
Analyst QuickTake: The new feature is expected to provide a more personalized and intelligent user experience as it won't require constant reminders. OpenAI appears to have increased its focus on offering a more personalized experience to ChatGPT users, where it launched the GPT store earlier this year, allowing ChatGPT paid users to create custom chatbots and incorporate them into conversations.
