TurtleTree receives vegan certification for sustainable lactoferrin 'LF+'

Industry news
Product updates

  • TurtleTree, a Singaporean company that uses cellular agriculture technology to produce animal-free milk, has received vegan certification for its precision-fermented animal-free lactoferrin, LF+, making it the only vegan-certified lactoferrin product in the market.

  • This milestone makes TurtleTree the first precision fermentation dairy company to achieve this certification and confirms that the production of LF+ is free from animal products, animal byproducts, or animal testing.

  • Analyst QuickTake: TurtleTree debuted LF+, a bioidentical dairy protein created through precision fermentation, in March 2023 . In November 2023, the company achieved self-affirmed GRAS (Generally Recognized As Safe) status for LF+, enabling it to begin its US commercialization plans and targeting gaps in the lactoferrin market and the plant-based milk industry.
