XPANCEO announces proof of concept for AR holographic lens testing system

Product updates

  • Smart lens manufacturer XPANCEO announced the world's first holographic lens testing system, aimed at streamlining the development process of its smart contact lenses.

  • The system is designed to replicate varied AR experiences, such as sports and gaming, to facilitate instant, risk-free testing of holographic optical elements, eliminating human trials. Key features include the capability to evaluate the field of view, the brightness and contrast of a virtual image, line and image sharpness, permissible projector angle, and the variability of image contrast across different weather conditions.

  • Analyst QuickTake: The announcement by XPANCEO marks an additional step in bringing smart contact lens usage to mainstream consumers. Further, the company’s ability to do this is underscored by its USD 40 million seed funding round in October 2023 . Funds were earmarked to merge the functionalities of its various lens prototypes into a single lens, expected to be completed by 2025 or 2026.
