Inco, a modular and interoperable layer-1 blockchain, raised USD 4.5 million in a seed funding round led by 1kx, with participation from Circle Ventures, GSR, Polygon Ventures, Robot Ventures, and Matter Labs, among others. The funds were raised as a Simple Agreement for Future Equity (SAFE) and token warrants.
The fresh funds will be used to launch its second testnet, "Paillier," in either Q2 or Q3 of this year, with the mainnet launch projected in Q4. Additionally, it plans to recruit engineers and staff across departments.
Founded in 2023, Inco is a modular, interoperable layer-1 blockchain that focuses on enhancing the confidentiality of dApps by integrating fully homomorphic encryption while keeping on-chain data confidential and auditable. Its first testnet, Gentry, was launched on February 21, 2024.
