Chainway Labs, a blockchain infrastructure company, raised USD 2.7 million in a seed funding round for Citrea, its zero-knowledge (zk) rollup platform for Bitcoin. The round was led by Galaxy Ventures and saw participation from Delphi Ventures, Eric Wall, (co-founder of the Taproot Wizards NFT project), and Anurag Arjun (co-founder of data availability blockchain Avail).

Moreover, it is based on the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM), allowing developers to run applications built for Ethereum and other compatible networks on Bitcoin. Its testnet is set to be released in the second quarter of 2024.
