SuperCircle partners with J. Crew to recycle old swimwear into new clothing fibers

Partnerships

  • SuperCircle, a textile recycling reverse logistics startup, has partnered with retail brand J. Crew to recycle old swimwear and redeploy the fibers into new clothing items.

  • J. Crew will implement a take-back program that will accept customers’ worn-out swimwear regardless of the brand at any J. Crew store or by free shipping. Customers will receive a USD 5 store credit for every returned swimsuit.

  • SuperCircle will sort the returned swimwear and send it to a suitable recycler depending on the fabric type. The fibers extracted will reenter the apparel industry to create new garments, and some of the fibers may be utilized for J. Crew's future products.

  • Analyst QuickTake: This latest partnership supports SuperCircle’s ambitions to expand its recycling volume to one million garments per month during the first half of 2024. SuperCircle partnered with takeback platform Reflaunt in November 2023, following a USD 7 million pre-Series A funding round earlier that month.
