Salvo Health, a New York-based virtual gastrointestinal (GI) care startup, has secured USD 5 million in a seed prime funding round. The round was co-led by City Light Capital and Human Ventures, with participation from Threshold Ventures, Torch Capital, Felicis Ventures, and Anmol Madan. In addition, Rachel Parlier of City Light and Emily Melton of Threshold will join the company's board of directors, along with Salvo's founder and CEO, Jeffrey Glueck.
The new funds will be used to expand the enterprise-wide implementation of Salvo's GI care at multiple healthcare providers, including gastroenterology private practices, health systems, and accountable care organizations.
Analyst QuickTake: In the past year, startups focused on chronic disease management, particularly those specializing in GI conditions, have been attracting funding from investors. For example, Vivante Health raised USD 31 million in a Series B funding round in September 2023, and Oshi Health raised USD 30 million in a Series B funding in April 2023.
