Paris-based AI startup Mistral AI has partnered with Snowflake, a data management and analytics platform, to provide its LLM, Mistral Large, in the Snowflake data cloud.

The partnership will enable Snowflake users to use Mistral AI’s LLMs, which offer functionality in multiple languages and reasoning, code, and mathematics capabilities. Additionally, Snowflake customers can access Mistral AI’s open-source model, Mixtral 8x7B. The models are also available to customers in public preview. 

Analyst QuickTake: This partnership mirrors an integration between Databricks and Shorthills AI in February 2024 to join data analytics with GenAI . The integration of GenAI into data infrastructure products is an ongoing trend, with other examples like Acceldata’s Copilot in February and Microsoft’s Copilot for Power BI in January.
