Copresence announces AI avatar rendering to digital avatar generation platform

Product updates

  • Copresence, a company specializing in digital avatar creation, announced AI avatar rendering on its platform.

  • The AI avatar rendering feature gives the platform the ability to develop two types of avatars: Computer graphics (CG) avatars and AI-generated avatars. CG avatars are versatile and suitable for game engines, while AI avatars emphasize on photorealism and likeness of users' faces, ideal for XR-based applications and video conferencing.

  • Analyst QuickTake: The avatars generated are similar in quality to those of Apple’s Personas , although it avoids requiring a face scan from the Vision Pro and limitations to video conferencing applications. A key barrier to avatar realism is the modeling of hair physics, which appear to be "stuck" on to a user's head and appear to be unnatural, given current limitations in real-time rendering.
