Eclipse, a customizable layer-2 rollup provider, has raised USD 50 million in a Series A funding round. The round was co-led by Placeholder and Hack VC, and significant investors such as Polychain Capital, Delphi Digital, Maven 11, and Apollo-managed funds participated. This brings Eclipse's total funds raised to USD 65 million.
The newly acquired funds will be primarily used to launch the Eclipse Mainnet, scheduled for Q2 2024.
Eclipse uses a mix of technology from Solana, Celestia, Ethereum,, and RISC Zero for its scaling solution. This results in transaction speeds similar to Solana's, while Ethereum provides security. Moreover, the network also supports Solana dApps.
